Prismatic Evolutions: Top 5 Chase Cards

Released in January 2025, Prismatic Evolutions is the final special set of the Scarlet & Violet era — and it's the highest-value set the era produced. The concept: every Eeveelution gets its own ex card with a Special Illustration Rare variant. Eevee itself gets an ex SIR too. The result is a set with nine individually collectible ex SIR cards, each with dedicated fan communities and collector demand.

Every single Eeveelution SIR in this set is a chase card. But some chase harder than others.

1. Umbreon ex — Special Illustration Rare (~$914)

"Sunbreon" is the most valuable card of the entire Scarlet & Violet era — and one of the most valuable modern Pokemon cards ever printed. The artwork depicts Umbreon in a radiant golden sunset, with warm amber and orange tones that stand in complete contrast to the Dark-type Pokemon's usual night-and-shadow aesthetic. The artistic contradiction is jarring and beautiful in equal measure.

Umbreon is, by most measures, the most popular Eeveelution. Its combination of design, competitive history, and cultural footprint makes it the dominant personality of any Eeveelution-focused set. When you put the most popular Eeveelution in the best artwork in the set and release it in a supply-constrained special set, you get one of the hobby's landmark cards.

2. Sylveon ex — Special Illustration Rare (~$313)

Sylveon is consistently ranked as one of the top two or three most popular Eeveelutions, and its SIR in Prismatic Evolutions delivers exactly what fans hoped for: ribbons, hearts, soft pastel tones, and the characteristic warmth that defines the Fairy-type Pokemon's visual identity. Sylveon ex was also a competitive tournament card during 2024–2025, adding player demand to the collector base.

3. Leafeon ex — Special Illustration Rare (~$266)

Leafeon's SIR places the Grass-type Eeveelution in a lush, sunlit nature scene rich with the botanical detail that suits the Pokemon perfectly. Among the Eeveelutions with strong collector communities, Leafeon ranks highly — and its SIR card delivers artwork that feels definitive for the character.

4. Espeon ex — Special Illustration Rare (~$209)

Espeon is the Psychic-type Eeveelution and one of the most consistently beloved members of the family. Its SIR in Prismatic Evolutions captures the elegant, mystical quality that makes Espeon stand out — a fan-favourite card for a fan-favourite Pokemon. If you're building the complete Eeveelution SIR collection, Espeon is among the most essential.

5. Vaporeon ex — Special Illustration Rare (~$196)

Vaporeon is one of the original three Eeveelutions from Generation 1 — alongside Flareon and Jolteon — and carries the generational nostalgia that comes with that status. Its SIR artwork is lush and immersive, fitting for a Water-type Pokemon with a design built around flowing movement. The combination of Gen 1 nostalgia and strong artwork sustains Vaporeon well into the top 5.

The Complete Eeveelution SIR Picture

All nine Eeveelution ex SIRs in Prismatic Evolutions are worth knowing about:

  • Umbreon ex — ~$914
  • Sylveon ex — ~$313
  • Leafeon ex — ~$266
  • Espeon ex — ~$209
  • Vaporeon ex — ~$196
  • Glaceon ex — ~$171
  • Flareon ex — ~$163
  • Jolteon ex — ~$150
  • Eevee ex — ~$112

Every card on this list is a legitimate pull. There's no disappointment tier in Prismatic Evolutions if you're pulling an Eeveelution SIR — even Jolteon and Eevee at the bottom of the list are valued well above the average Hyper Rare or SIR from any other set.

Supply was severely constrained at launch, and the ongoing collector interest in Eeveelutions means this set is likely to hold its value better than most. If you're tracking your Prismatic Evolutions collection and still have Eeveelution SIRs to find, you know what you're hunting for.
